THE LONG VERSION
I am a licensed professional counselor providing therapy for teens, parents, and young adults. I received my BS from Texas A&M University and my MA in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. I completed my graduate school training at Children’s Medical Center in the Center for Pediatric Psychiatry. Following graduation and the completion of my internship, I moved to Fort Worth to work on the inpatient psychiatry unit at Cook Children’s Medical Center, serving children ages 12 and under and their families. In 2016, I transitioned back to Dallas to be a part of the Suicide Prevention and Resilience (SPARC) Intensive Outpatient Program at Children’s Health, counseling teens ages 13-18 and their parents. Knowing the value of people walking with you through life, I decided I wanted to join with others in their lives, particularly in the messy parts, to foster healing and encourage life lived to its fullest.
I have called Dallas home for the past 8 years, and while I never meant to stay long term, I have slowly fallen in love with this city and its people.
I am passionate about reducing stigma and raising awareness about mental health and enjoy doing this for schools and private events/organizations. I believe everyone deserves to receive high quality care for the things that are causing them the most trouble in life.
My values and passion for people drive my work with teens, parents, and young adults.
In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends, read good books, walk the neighborhood with my and dog, and be outdoors. I also spend a good deal of time as a leader/mentor for Young Lives, an organization which seeks to reach teen moms in Dallas by life-on-life mentoring and modeling to support, empower, and encourage them as they navigate the challenges of parenting, graduating high school, and becoming independent adults.
Things I am looking forward to are future family vacations, traveling (the list is lengthy but includes the Alps, the Mediterranean, the Grand Tetons, and parts of Canada), watching my family grow, and
My Hope
I would be honored to be a part of your journey....
